Erin Burcham was recently named to Roanoke College\u2019s\u00a0Community Advisory Group<\/a>.<\/p>\n Burcham is the President of Verge and Executive Director of the Roanoke-Blacksburg Technology Council. Verge is the regional technology alliance that includes affiliates of the Roanoke-Blacksburg Technology Council, Valley Innovation Council and RAMP (the Regional Acceleration and Mentoring Program), a Roanoke-based business accelerator.<\/p>\n Burcham\u00a0spearheads initiatives for technology, innovation, and talent development in the region including multiple GO Virginia projects.\u00a0She holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in communications from the University of South Carolina and a master\u2019s degree in leadership with a focus on economic development from Virginia Tech.<\/p>\n The connection with Roanoke College helps strengthen the\u00a0tie between companies in the region to college and university students<\/a>\u00a0preparing for jobs in the technology industry.<\/p>\n Burcham\u2019s announcement coincides with other Roanoke College appointments. Michelle R. Austin, Amy Hansen Geddes, Carrie Taylor McConnell, and Karen Rymers Winslow were named to the President\u2019s Advisory Board.<\/p>\n
