Seventeen microgrants were awarded to regional technology and biotechnology companies, where over $8 million was applied for, as a result of the microgrant awards. Funding of this caliber will bring additional jobs and higher wages into these communities. The microgrant opportunity was promoted to Southside, Southwest, and West Central Virginia (i.e., GO Virginia Regions 1, 2, and 3), as part of the Verge PitchPlus Expansion Project.
