Verge was a grateful recipient of a $200,000 grant from Truist Foundation, in which Verge was able to award $50,000 in microgrants to startups to assist with their state and federal grant writing efforts. Seventeen microgrants were awarded to regional technology and biotechnology companies, where over $8 million was applied for, as a result of the microgrant awards. Funding of this caliber will bring additional jobs and higher wages into these communities. The microgrant opportunity was promoted to Southside, Southwest, and West Central Virginia (i.e., GO Virginia Regions 1, 2, and 3), as part of the Verge PitchPlus Expansion Project. We are pleased to award the following companies microgrant support, thanks to Truist Foundation funding, including:

Also, as part of the Truist Foundation grant, an “Access to Capital” training series is now available and can be found at https://vergeva.org/accesstocapital, which is free curriculum that provides actionable insights and information about the changing landscape of investments and startup financing for the entrepreneurial community.
