The aim of the Access to Capital education series is to give you an understanding about startup financing, and help you access the capital you need for your company.

Additional Capital Resources

  • RAMP: No matter where you find yourself in the startup pipeline, RAMP supports entrepreneurs with their business ideas that are early-stage, as well as offers an application-based, In-Residence Program.
  • Carilion Clinic Innovation (CCI): CCI remains committed to fostering innovation and advancing the creation of groundbreaking technologies within Carilion Clinic.
  • Virginia Tech’s (VT) LAUNCH Center for New Ventures: Supports the commercialization efforts of new technologies emerging from VT research, like capital resources available through the LAUNCH Proof of Concept (POC) Grant Program, and other workshop opportunities like the LAUNCH Startup Labs, Cyber Startup Labs, and VT LICENSE Tech Transfer Boot Camps.
  • Innovation Commercialization Assistance Program (ICAP): A partner of RAMP, and program of the Virginia Small Business Development Centers (VASBDC), ICAP assists VA-based tech and innovation-driven startups from ideation to seeking a Series A level of funding and beyond.
  • Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation (VIPC) Resources: Resources primarily for VA-based tech entrepreneurs seeking funding, acceleration, mentoring, and/or other support services to help launch and grow their startups. VIPC’s funding and support programs exist alongside complementary regional, state, federal, and private sector programs, with countless recordings and trainings available about SBIR/STTR funding and opportunities.

Verge aligns the strengths and programming efforts of the RBTC (Roanoke-Blacksburg Technology Council) and RAMP (Regional Accelerator & Mentoring Program).
